Mai Fuchigami is a Japanese voice actress and singer born on May 28, 1987, in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. She is affiliated with the talent agency m&i and the record label Lantis. Her path to becoming a voice actress was inspired by a friend in high school who recommended a DVD of Nana Mizuki, leading her to pursue this career over her original aspirations of becoming an actress or a lawyer.
Fuchigami graduated from the Yoyogi Animation Academy in Tokyo in 2007 and successfully passed the second Sigma Seven public audition in the same year, marking the beginning of her professional journey. She made her voice acting debut in 2009, providing the voice for Kaname Asagiri in the video game and subsequent anime adaptation of Okamikakushi. In 2011, she left Sigma Seven to become a freelancer before joining the agency INCS toenter later that year. She later moved to her current agency, m&i, in July 2014.
Her career saw a significant turning point in 2012 when she was cast as the protagonist Miho Nishizumi in the anime series Girls und Panzer. This role brought her widespread recognition and became a defining part of her career. The following year, she was cast in major roles, including Alice Yotsuba, also known as Cure Rosetta, in DokiDoki! PreCure, and as the personified submarine Iona in Arpeggio of Blue Steel. She has since voiced a wide array of characters, demonstrating her vocal range across different genres. Some of her other notable roles include Nagisa Shiota in Assassination Classroom, Karen Hojo in The Idolmaster Cinderella Girls, Sadayo Kawakami in Persona 5 the Animation, Dortin in the Sorcerous Stabber Orphen series, and May in Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE. She also played Harumi Kumashiro in Planet With and Misa Konohata in Asteroid in Love. In addition to her anime work, she has lent her voice to numerous video games, including the role of Marie Mizuguchi in Caligula.

She is known for her wide vocal range and versatility, adapting her voice to suit a variety of character types, from cute girls and young ladies to young boys. In her personal life, Fuchigami is known for her love of birds and has kept parrots as pets. She also holds a kendo rank of shodan.
