Description
A woman who died and was reincarnated finds herself living as Tiararose Lapis Clementille, the villainess of her favorite otome game, The Ring of Lapis Lazuli. Aware that her fate is to be publicly humiliated and exiled by her fiancé, Prince Hartknights, she resigns herself to this predetermined outcome. At the graduation ceremony, events unfold exactly as the game dictated: Hartknights falsely accuses her of bullying the game’s heroine, Akari, breaks off their engagement, and declares his love for Akari instead.
Just as Tiararose braces for her banishment, the script deviates entirely from the game she remembers. Aquasteed Marineforest, the crown prince of the neighboring kingdom of Marinforest, interrupts the proceedings. He announces that he has long harbored feelings for Tiararose and proposes marriage on the spot, offering her an unexpected escape from her ruin. The series follows Tiararose as she leaves her former kingdom and travels to Marinforest, where she must navigate her new role as Aquasteed’s fiancée. While she is suddenly adored and protected by the prince, she also contends with political maneuvering, the lingering schemes of the original game’s heroine who may also be a reincarnated person, and her own journey of self-discovery outside the villainous role the game assigned her.
The story is set in a fantasy world inspired by European nobility, primarily moving between the opulent courts of the kingdom of Lapis Lazuli and the neighboring kingdom of Marinforest. The main characters include Tiararose Lapis Clementille, a kind-hearted young woman who loves baking sweets and struggles with her forced passivity as she learns to accept genuine affection; Aquasteed Marineforest, the powerful and devoted dark-haired prince whose sudden proposal changes her life; Hartknights Lapis-Lazuli Lacmouth, Tiararose’s shallow former fiancé who is easily manipulated by the heroine; and Akari, the game’s original heroine whose actions suggest she may be aware of the game’s mechanics and is actively pursuing her own desired ending. Notable narrative arcs include Tiararose’s initial condemnation and rescue, her adjustment to life in Marinforest and relationship with Aquasteed, the political challenges she faces as a foreign noble, and the subtle rivalry with Akari, who seems determined to secure a harem ending that includes Aquasteed as well.
