Marina Yamada is a Japanese voice actress and former idol, born on March 24, 1995, in Kurume, Fukuoka Prefecture. Her journey in entertainment began in 2012 when she joined the idol group HKT48 as a second-generation member while still in high school, gaining popularity under the nickname Mariri. During this time, she nurtured her aspiration to become a voice actress who could also sing and dance, leading her to attend the Yoyogi Animation Academy in Fukuoka. After graduating from both the academy and HKT48 in 2018, she transitioned fully into voice acting and joined the talent agency Crocodile.

Yamada made her voice acting debut in 2018 with a significant role as Pino in the anime series Dropkick on My Devil!. This character, a fallen angel and one of the main cast members, became a recurring role for her, as she reprised the part in subsequent installments including Dropkick on My Devil! X, Dropkick on My Devil!! Apocalypse Day, and other seasons of the franchise. Her filmography from this period also includes a role in Kiratto Pri☆chan as Orange Colors.

In the years following her debut, Yamada continued to build a diverse portfolio of anime roles. In 2019, she was cast as Marina in the series Rainy Cocoa side G and as Naias in Seaside-sō no Aquakko. The year 2020 saw her take on the role of Rio Ōsawa in Chūsotsu Worker Kara Hajimeru Kōkō Seikatsu. A notable expansion of her career came in 2021 when she voiced Makoto Miyasaka in the sports anime Farewell, My Dear Cramer. The following year, she was cast as Mizuki in the series Comet Freyline: Prologue and as Suiu Fujiwara in the second season of the romantic comedy Science Fell in Love, So I Tried to Prove It, titled r=1-sinθ. Beyond these roles, her voice can be heard in popular series such as The Quintessential Quintuplets, Aharen-san is Indecipherable, and World's End Harem, often in supporting or guest capacities.

Beyond anime, Yamada has been active in various other entertainment media. She has performed in video games, with roles including Sayuki Rurugawa in Arca Last and Shione Asanagi in Tokyo 7th Sisters. Her work also extends to stage plays, radio programs, internet broadcasts, and narrations for commercials. She has been a member of voice-acting units such as Guildrops and Kleissis, further blending her interests in performance and music. In May 2025, she left her agency to pursue new opportunities as a freelance voice actress and performer. Recognized for her ties to her hometown, she has served as an official ambassador for Kurume City. Additionally, she holds an instructor's license in calligraphy, demonstrating a notable skill outside of her performance career.
