Movie
Description
Arisu Yotsuba, heir to the vast Yotsuba Zaibatsu conglomerate, attends prestigious Nanatsubashi Academy, separate from her childhood friends Mana Aida and Rikka Hishikawa, yet maintains their bond through monthly tea parties. Her affluent upbringing cultivated talents in music, sports, martial arts, and cooking, though she sometimes unintentionally surprises others by casually mentioning places or things owned by her family's corporation. Generally gentle, quiet, calm, and bubbly, she possesses a fierce temper when friends are mocked or hurt, leading her to physically confront offenders using martial arts learned from her grandfather, often regretting these outbursts afterward. She places immense trust in Sebastian, her family's chief butler, frequently relying on his assistance.
Her friendship with Mana and Rikka began in elementary school when Mana wandered into the Yotsuba mansion's yard chasing a butterfly. Arisu faced bullying from older boys then, prompting Mana to intervene. When the bullies returned with an older sibling, Arisu's anger surfaced, and she defeated them with her martial arts, leading to an initial reluctance to use her abilities openly. She later discovered the Pretty Cure team through security footage at properties like Clover Tower and deliberately erased it to protect their secret identities. Her journey to becoming Cure Rosetta started when she found Lance, Rikka and Mana's forgotten bear-like fairy partner, at their school. Overcoming her hesitation, she intervened to protect Cure Heart and Cure Diamond during a battle, triggering her transformation.
As Cure Rosetta, she embodies warmth and the clover symbol, declaring "The warmth of the sun! Cure Rosetta!" Her transformation involves placing a Cure Lovead onto Lance's heart medallion, stating "Pretty Cure Love Link!", and spelling "L-O-V-E" on her Lovely Commune device. This process lightens her hair to orange, styling it in curled twin-tails adorned with clover-shaped accessories featuring gold hearts, complemented by clover earrings and a pointed light green choker. Her costume is a yellow dress with light green detailing, a white center stripe, puffed sleeves, a light green ribbon at the navel, and a gold heart on the chest, finished with white and yellow boots featuring light green cuffs and yellow bows. Her defensive capabilities center on "Rosetta Wall," creating a sturdy barrier. Secondary techniques include "Rosetta Reflection," forming a purifying clover-shaped defensive wall, and "Rosetta Balloon," summoning light ribbons or a giant Lance figure using the Magical Lovely Pad. She can achieve a powered-up state marked by a yellow glow enveloping her body during intense battles.
Within the movie "Mana Kekkon!!? Mirai ni Tsunagu Kibou no Dress," the villain Marsh alters the past, trapping Mana in a version of her elementary school days where her grandmother and deceased dog Maro are alive, but Arisu and Rikka are absent, highlighting their foundational role in Mana's life. Arisu, alongside Rikka, fights Marsh's henchmen within these distorted memories after their fairy partners locate and assist them. Later, in a future scene depicting Mana's wedding, Arisu appears wearing a yellow dress covered in transparent silk, her hair styled in low curled bun-like pigtails.
Her birthdate is May 28, making her zodiac sign Gemini. She was initially conceptualized with an older brother, Hiromichi, the former student council president who inspired Mana, but this idea was discarded during development. She later appears as Cure Rosetta delivering a 10th-anniversary message in a subsequent series.
