Description
Goda is a central antagonist in the anime Angel of Darkness. Initially presented as a young science professor at the Siren Women's Academy, a prestigious boarding school for girls, his true nature is eventually revealed to be far more monstrous than his human appearance suggests. Goda’s transformation begins when he digs up a large tree in the schoolyard during a thunderstorm. Breaking a mysterious stone tablet that served as a seal, he is attacked by a tentacled creature, an entity known as an Inju or sex demon, which infects and possesses his body. This event causes him to lose his humanity, and he becomes a host for the demonic entity, fundamentally reshaping his persona and desires.
As a character, Goda is defined by his predatory and manipulative nature. He exploits his position of authority within the all-girls school to systematically prey upon its inhabitants. Possessed by the Inju, his primary motivation shifts to sustaining his new form and achieving a further evolution. To satisfy this need, he requires the bodily fluids of young women, which he harvests by torturing students in an underground basement located in the school’s church. In these scenes, he is often seen working alongside The Director, who is complicit in the abuse and participates in the sexual torture of the captive girls. Goda’s ultimate objective is to use Yuko, a teacher at the academy, as a vessel to give birth to a new, female Inju. This goal drives his actions and establishes the central conflict of the story.
Within the narrative, Goda serves as the primary source of supernatural horror and corruption. His role is that of a sinister figure whose monstrous activities are initially hidden beneath the veneer of a respected faculty member. He maintains a key relationship with The Director, who assists him in his crimes and is also subjected to his abuse. Goda’s plans are eventually uncovered by two students, Atsuko and Sayaka, who become the main forces working to stop him. Their discovery of his activities and schemes leads to a direct confrontation with him. While specific details of his development across the four-part series are not extensively documented, his character arc is one of a man who loses his humanity and becomes a demon, progressing towards his goal of achieving a true, more powerful form. His notable abilities are directly tied to his possession, granting him supernatural powers and the capacity to control or create tentacles, which he uses to attack and violate his victims.
