Shinya Ōtaki

Shinya Ōtaki is a Japanese voice actor born on July 29, 1953 in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. He previously worked under the name Susumu Kotaki and currently operates as a freelancer. His career spans numerous anime television series, original video animations (OVAs), feature films, video games, and dubbing work for foreign live-action productions.
Ōtaki is known for a wide range of roles across several decades of anime. In television animation, he provided the voice of Jiron Amos in Combat Mecha Xabungle, a role he also played in the Xabungle Graffiti OVA. He voiced Granzort in Mado King Granzort, as well as the character's Super Granzort and Hyper Granzort forms in subsequent OVA series. In the Machine Robo franchise, he portrayed Blue Jet in Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos and both R. JeTan and Blue Jet in Machine Robo: Battle Hackers. He played Holland in Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water, Doktor S in Mobile Suit Gundam Wing, General Colbert in Tekkaman Blade, and Francis in Dancouga – Super Beast Machine God. Additional television credits include the older Slicer brother in Fullmetal Alchemist, Kantamu Robo and Nene's father in Crayon Shin-chan, Daikoku in Flame of Recca, and Otuka-sensei in Kimagure Orange Road.
Within the realm of OVAs, Ōtaki voiced Jones in Bondage Queen Kate, Granzort in the Mado King Granzort series, Isaac Fernand von Turneisen in Legend of the Galactic Heroes, and Nakaha Nakato in Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory. He also appeared in The Heroic Legend of Arslan as Shapur, and in Bubblegum Crisis as a deputy commander.
