Description
Blue Jet is a central character from the anime Machine Robo: Revenge of Cronos. He is a male Machine Robo from the Jet tribe, a group of robots capable of transforming into aircraft. As the son of the Jet tribe's chief, he carries the pride of his lineage. Physically, he stands 2.1 meters tall and weighs 2.5 tons, and he is estimated to be around 15 years of age in human-equivalent terms. His alternate mode is a high-performance jet fighter capable of flying at speeds of up to Mach 7.2.

Blue Jet is characterized by his cool and somewhat aloof demeanor, often seen wearing sunglasses that add to his mysterious and composed image. His personality is described as nihilistic or cynical, but this exterior hides a deep sense of honor and loyalty. He lives by a samurai-like code of ethics, which is reflected in his chosen fighting style, the Tenku Shinken or "Sky Heart Sword." He is a dedicated swordsman who has honed his skills from a young age.

His motivations are deeply rooted in justice and a desire to protect his home planet of Cronos from the invading forces of the Gyandlar empire, led by the tyrant Gadess. Blue Jet was a student of the martial arts master Kirai Stol, alongside Kirai's son Rom Stol and another warrior named Rod Drill. When the Gyandlar attacked and Kirai sacrificed himself to protect the secret of the Hyribead, Blue Jet was driven by a sense of duty and vengeance. He became a loyal companion to Rom on his quest to oppose the Gyandlar and unravel the mysteries of the Wolf Emblems.

Within the main group of protagonists, Blue Jet serves as the aerial specialist and a key tactical asset. His ability to transform into a jet allows him to provide high-speed reconnaissance, transport his allies, and engage enemy air forces. He is a steadfast and reliable fighter in battle, often leading aerial maneuvers and providing cover for his ground-bound companions. His role in the story includes participating in numerous missions, from infiltrating enemy fortresses like Sado Fortress to defending the city of Emerald City from Gyandlar assaults.

His key relationships are primarily with his fellow warriors. He shares a strong bond of brotherhood with Rom Stol, whom he respects as a leader and friend, even though there are rare moments of disagreement between them. He is also a close comrade to Rod Drill and Triple Jim. One of the more significant personal subplots for Blue Jet involves his romantic feelings for a dojo owner named Rury. He considers abandoning his quest to stay and protect her but ultimately chooses his duty to fight for the greater good, promising to return to her after the war. He also experiences a fleeting infatuation with a robotic duplicate of Princess Solitaire Raymosette.

Throughout the series, Blue Jet undergoes development from a skilled but vengeance-driven warrior into a more strategic leader. This evolution is particularly evident in the sequel, Machine Robo: Battle Hackers, where he has lost his memories of Cronos and serves as the level-headed commander of the White Thunder aerial division in the Algo Republic. In this role, he balances following orders with his own sense of right and wrong, at one point defying orders to save workers from a collapsing furnace. His character arc culminates in a powerful act of sacrifice during the final battle on Cronos. When the villain Gadess impales him, Blue Jet suffers fatal wounds but ignores them to free his trapped friends, allowing Rom to land the decisive blow against the Gyandlar. This act cements his legacy as a hero who embodies the themes of sacrifice and redemption.

Blue Jet possesses several notable abilities. His primary skill is his mastery of the Tenku Shinken swordsmanship style, which makes him a formidable close-quarters combatant. His robotic body grants him superhuman strength and durability. His signature ability is transforming into a jet, granting him incredible speed and aerial superiority. He is also shown to be a capable leader and tactician, particularly in the Battle Hackers series where he leads his own unit.
