Description
In a near-future Earth, humanity faces a dire threat from the alien race known as the Vajra, who seek to conquer the planet. To combat this invasion, the Earth Federation develops advanced powered armor suits called Borgman units. These suits are piloted by genetically enhanced soldiers known as Borgmen, who possess heightened physical and mental abilities. The story centers on Ryo Hibiki, a young man who becomes the pilot of the Borgman unit Lander after his older brother, Ken, is killed in battle. Ryo joins the elite Borgman team, which includes the skilled and determined Anise Yamamoto, the stoic and experienced Chuck Sweagger, and the compassionate medic Sheila Suruga.
The team operates from the mobile fortress Garuda, led by Commander Junichiro Kanzaki. As the Vajra continue their relentless assault, the Borgmen engage in intense battles to protect Earth. The narrative explores the personal struggles and growth of the team members, particularly Ryo, who must overcome his grief and self-doubt to live up to his brother’s legacy. Anise, driven by a desire to avenge her family, often clashes with Ryo but gradually forms a strong bond with him. Chuck, a veteran soldier, provides guidance and support, while Sheila balances her role as a medic with her combat duties.
The Vajra, led by the enigmatic General Zolba, deploy increasingly powerful forces, including their own Borgman-like units. The conflict escalates as the Borgmen uncover the Vajra’s true motives and the origins of their advanced technology. Key battles take place across various locations, from urban centers to remote wastelands, showcasing the versatility of the Borgman units and the strategic prowess of the team. The series also delves into themes of sacrifice, camaraderie, and the ethical implications of genetic enhancement and warfare.
As the story progresses, the Borgmen face internal and external challenges, including betrayal, personal loss, and the moral complexities of their mission. The climax involves a decisive confrontation with the Vajra, where the team must unite their strengths and resolve to secure humanity’s survival. The narrative concludes with a resolution that ties together the characters’ arcs and the overarching conflict, leaving a lasting impact on the world and its inhabitants.
