Description
Airi Gotō is a 28-year-old IT company supervisor overseeing protagonist Yoshida. She possesses fair skin, shoulder-length dark brown hair usually tied or braided, secured with a gold hairband resting on her right shoulder, and a visible beauty mark under her left eye. Her figure includes a notably large bust. She consistently wears professional corporate attire: blazers, skirts, heels, and various silver necklaces.

Intelligent yet possessing manipulative tendencies, Airi often prompts others to voice responses she anticipates, resulting in a taunting demeanor Yoshida finds both off-putting and appealing. Despite this, she demonstrates genuine kindness and care, particularly towards runaway high school student Sayu Ogiwara, whom she helps confront difficult realities about her situation. Airi skillfully conceals her true emotions, a trait Sayu initially finds unsettling before recognizing her supportive nature. While claiming no prior romantic experience, she adeptly leverages her sensuality when advantageous.

Airi's background includes a one-month runaway period during her youth, aided by an unidentified man, which caused complex emotional repercussions. This experience fosters deep empathy for those in similar struggles, like Sayu. At work, she quickly discerns Yoshida's attraction after he joins the company and gradually develops reciprocal feelings. When Yoshida confesses, she rejects him under the false pretense of an existing relationship, believing his interest stemmed solely from physical attraction.

Following her rejection, Airi notices changes in Yoshida's behavior, prompting increased curiosity about his personal life. She invites him to dinners to investigate, eventually admitting her longstanding affection. She explains her prior refusal stemmed from concerns about his motivations and pledges to initiate her own confession when appropriate. Concurrently, she learns of Yoshida's cohabitation with Sayu but chooses non-interference.

With Sayu, Airi assumes a quasi-sisterly role despite the teenager's initial distrust of her inscrutable expressions. Airi employs direct, uncompromising methods to force Sayu to confront the reality of her runaway status, ultimately earning Sayu's gratitude for providing necessary guidance. Later, upon Sayu's return to her family, Airi acknowledges her emotional growth with sincere praise.

Events after Sayu's departure, chronicled in the spin-off novels "Another Side Story – Airi Gotō," delve into Airi's introspective examination of her feelings for Yoshida. This culminates in a trip to Kyoto where she intends to fulfill her confession promise. A subsequent hot springs excursion features open discussion of their emotions, solidifying their mutual affection and commitment.
