TV-Series
Description
Barn Bonnings (also spelled Bern Bunnings, Burn Bunnings, or Burne Bannings) commands Drake Luft's military forces for much of the series. He earns significant respect from subordinates and grudging acknowledgment from superiors through tactical acumen and battlefield prowess. As Show Zama's primary rival, he frequently clashes with him in combat under Drake Luft. After a major defeat by Show leaves him severely injured and presumed dead, he resurfaces later as the Black Knight, a masked mercenary aligned with Drake's forces, embodying a more ruthless, vengeance-driven persona.
Drake Luft arranges his engagement to his daughter, Riml Luft, to solidify loyalty and alliance, complicated by Riml's lack of reciprocated feelings due to her involvement with resistance leader Nie Given. This unrequited engagement adds personal tragedy to his duty. During the final battle, he swaps his complex Bubuly Aura Battler for the efficient Galava fighter. His final confrontation with Show culminates in a mutual kill, as both fatally wound each other amidst their machines' destruction, resolving their prolonged rivalry. His arc reflects themes of duty, honor eroded by vengeance, and the personal costs of unwavering loyalty.
