He acts as the de facto leader of the three students recruited into the Prefectural Earth Defense Force, frequently devising spontaneous and unconventional plans to combat the Telephone Pole Group; these schemes often lead to chaotic outcomes.

Morita maintains a close friendship with fellow Defense Force member Takei Sukekubo. The pair frequently argue during missions—debating elements like the effectiveness of their poorly conceived undercover disguises—yet their camaraderie endures. Morita exhibits a confident, sometimes overzealous attitude, particularly in confrontations, such as openly expressing indignation upon discovering their faculty advisor, Mr. Roberi, interacting with Telephone Pole Group operative Ryūko Harataki.

His leadership role involves coordinating with Sukekubo and Akiko Ifukube, though Akiko's participation is often limited.
