Her sister, Karala Ajiba, emerges as a central figure in the conflict through her interactions with the Solo Ship crew.

Harulu commands military operations against the Solo Ship with decisive and ruthless leadership. After Karala allies with human colonists, Harulu authorizes lethal force against her sister, declaring Karala a disgrace to the Ajiba family. This action underscores Harulu's prioritization of military objectives over family ties. She oversees campaigns across planets like Ruins Star, where she personally humiliates Karala during a failed peace initiative.

Strategically, Harulu allies with Daram Zuba, a former lover and Ome Foundation member collaborating with Doba Ajiba to overthrow the Buff Clan Emperor. This partnership seeks to consolidate power against both the Solo Ship and political rivals. Her flagship, the Dorowa Zan, engages the Solo Ship directly but is destroyed, forcing Harulu to escape via capsule.

During the conflict's climax, Harulu joins her father aboard the Buff Clan flagship Bairal Jin. When Karala reveals her pregnancy with Bes Jordan's child, Harulu participates in the ensuing efforts to capture or eliminate her sister. In the final confrontation, she perishes alongside Doba Ajiba and other Buff Clan leaders as the Ideon activates its full power, annihilating the Bairal Jin and surrounding forces.
