General Daston commands as the Derinja Empire's Generalissimo, a high-ranking military officer directly subordinate to President Azass, leader of the alien invasion force targeting Earth. As Azass's primary field commander, Daston directs the empire's aggressive campaigns and deploys Mecha-Fighters against Earth's defenses from his base within the Derinja orbital command structure.

His involvement concludes in episode 27 when he pilots a Mecha-Fighter unit against the combined Albegas robot. During this engagement, Albegas uses its Sanbai Plasma Sword to cleave the Mecha-Fighter in half, killing Daston. This defeat occurs prior to President Azass being replaced by President Bios in episode 29.
