Description
Kassie Carlen, originally named Karin Kokubu, is an ordinary seventh-grade student at St. Ringo School. Her life changes when she encounters an extraterrestrial yellow pig, revealed as Prince Tonrariano III from the apple-shaped planet Buringo (sometimes called Oinko). The prince grants her a "Dream Tonpact," a magical compact attaching a pig snout to her nose. By reciting "Ba Bi Bu Be Burin!", she transforms into a superpowered pink piglet, Super Pig (or Super Cerdita), gaining abilities like super strength and flight to aid others in emergencies.
Initially disappointed by her porcine form, Kassie yearns to resemble a conventional magical girl like her idol, "Cutey Chao." She accepts her role because Prince Tonrariano offers a condition: collecting 108 pearls through altruistic acts will allow her to assume a more desirable heroic form. This pearl-collection operates on karmic principles, deducting pearls for power misuse. Crucially, if her dual identity is exposed, she faces permanent entrapment as a pig.
Kassie navigates typical adolescent challenges alongside her superhero duties. She harbors a romantic interest in classmate Koichi Mizuno, soccer team captain, who ironically admires her Super Pig persona unknowingly. She contends with rivalries, notably from wealthy classmate Keiko Kuroha, stemming from a shared crush on tennis player Takuma Mushanokoji. Kassie relies on close friendships, particularly with Masami Yamakawa. Outside school, she enjoys painting and manages family dynamics; her father, a newspaper editor, actively seeks scoops on Super Pig, threatening her secret. Classmate Jimmy Matsumoto's investigations into Super Pig further heighten this risk.
A pivotal moment occurs when her classmates collectively discover her secret, triggering the irreversible pig-form consequence. This crisis resolves after she successfully collects all 108 pearls through sustained heroism, enabling her to revert to human form despite the exposure. Her journey reflects evolving self-acceptance, shifting from initial resistance to embracing her unique abilities and their positive impact.
