Rocio Mallo

Description
Rocío Mallo is a Venezuelan voice actress, theater performer, and narrator with a career spanning over two decades. She began working in dubbing in 1996 after being recommended for an audition at Etcétera Group by a colleague. Her first role was providing the voice for Lori Beth Denver in the series All That. She holds a degree in performing arts from the Central University of Venezuela and is also a licensed broadcaster. Outside of voice acting, she has worked extensively in theater since 1992, with a particular fondness for children's theater, and also performs as a storyteller under the name La Tía Ro.

Mallo has built an extensive career voicing characters in anime, animated series, and live-action productions for both Venezuelan and Mexican dubbing markets. In anime, she is recognized for her role as Riza Hawkeye in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Her other significant anime credits include the title character Kassie Carlen, also known as Super Cerdita, in Ai to Yūki no Pig Girl Tonde Būrin, Wendy Earhart in R.O.D. the TV, Valkyrie and Cynthia in Blue Dragon, and Mizumi Tanako in Bokurano. She also provided voices for Medabots, Steel Angel Kurumi, and Galaxy Angel.

Her work in Western animation is equally extensive. She is widely known as the voice of Garnet in the Latin American Spanish dubs of Steven Universe, Steven Universe: The Movie, and Steven Universe Future, a role for which she also performed the character's songs, including the notable track "Stronger Than You." Mallo has voiced numerous other characters, including Roxy, Mirta, and Cherie in Winx Club, Ann Marie in Drama Total: La Venganza de la Isla, the first voice of Juanito Jones in the series of the same name, and Chelsea Gibbons in Mighty B!, la súper abeja. For Mexican dubs, she voiced Kapri in Power Rangers: Tormenta Ninja and provided additional voices, including Rafa Gorgory, for seasons 16 and 17 of The Simpsons.

Mallo has also worked as a dialogue director and continued to take on new roles, such as Eva Gina in the animated series Haters Town. In addition to her performance work, she has shared her expertise by teaching workshops on acting, neutral accent, and professional dubbing.

Her daughter, Angie Mallo, is also a voice actress, and the two have collaborated on various projects. Most notably, they voiced the characters Garnet and Aquamarine, respectively, in the Steven Universe franchise. Beyond her professional work, Rocío Mallo is known for her social and charitable activities, which have included visiting children in hospitals and shelters, often in character as Garnet, and participating in community fundraising efforts for fellow voice actors.
