Description
Henk de Mol is a mole who serves as the adoptive father and primary guardian of Alfred J. Kwak. He was a close friend of Alfred's biological parents, Johan Sebastian and Anna Kwak, before their deaths in a rainstorm car accident, which also claimed Alfred's siblings. Discovering the orphaned duckling, Henk took responsibility for his upbringing.
He raised Alfred first in his grandfather's underground home, providing stability and care. They later moved to a distinctive house shaped like a giant Dutch clog, where Alfred slept in his former cradle. Throughout Alfred's life, Henk remained a constant source of emotional support, wisdom, and guidance, frequently accompanying him on adventures and offering counsel. He helped Alfred navigate crises ranging from false accusations of theft to complex social and political challenges.
Henk embodies practicality and compassion, actively assisting Alfred in resolving conflicts and advocating for justice. He supported Alfred's efforts to aid refugees, oppose oppressive regimes, and protect the environment. His role extended beyond caretaking; he actively participated in Alfred's maturation from childhood to adulthood, instilling values like empathy, integrity, and resilience. Henk maintained his steadfast presence across all documented episodes.
