Frits Lambrechts is a Dutch actor, cabaret artist, and musician with a prolific career spanning stage, television, and voice acting. Born Fredericus Amos Lambrechts in Amsterdam on March 24, 1937, he began his career in cabaret in the early 1960s and quickly became a well-established figure in Dutch entertainment.
While his career encompasses a wide range of live-action roles, Lambrechts is particularly renowned for his extensive work as a voice actor in Dutch-dubbed versions of numerous animated films and series. His voice became familiar to Dutch audiences through his long-running role as the voice of Tigger in the Winnie the Pooh cartoons, a character he voiced from 1991 until 2010. He also provided the Dutch voice for Mater in the Cars film series, including Cars, Cars 2, and Cars 3, and voiced the main character Carl Fredricksen in the Pixar film Up.
One of his most significant and beloved voice roles is that of Henk de Mol in the internationally co-produced animated series Alfred J. Kwak, known in Japan as Ahiru no Quack. In this series, which aired from 1989 to 1991, Lambrechts voiced the character of Henk the Mole, the kind-hearted adoptive father of the protagonist, Alfred J. Kwak. This role is a prime example of his contribution to bringing animated characters to life for Dutch viewers. His other notable voice credits include Louie in TaleSpin, Dodger in Oliver & Company, Wilbur in The Rescuers Down Under, Bloat in Finding Nemo and its sequel Finding Dory, and characters in films such as Minoes and Pluk van de Petteflet.
Throughout his career, Lambrechts has been recognized for his talent and contribution to Dutch arts. In 1971, he was awarded a Zilveren Harp for his contribution to Dutch song. Decades later, he received a Gouden Beeld for Best Actor in 2003 for his role in the television film Sloophamer.
