Laila Lie features in the twelfth episode, titled with her name. Kidnapped by an organization whose vehicles bear the ROOF insignia, her captivity ends when Sheyenne Rainstorm discovers a deep-sea vessel marked with the same insignia during a dive. Recognizing the connection to Laila's abduction, he locates her prison and engineers a rescue.

During their escape, Laila confesses to Sheyenne the reason for her capture: she killed a man she once loved. Soldiers intercept their flight, resulting in a confrontation where Laila is shot and falls into the water. She sinks rapidly and deeply. A large aquatic creature blocks Sheyenne's attempt to reach her. He manages only to retrieve a small seashell that belonged to her before losing consciousness.
