TV-Series
Description
Hajime Murata serves as the central narrator of his story. He is a middle-school student and the class representative for 2nd year homeroom C at Misumaru Middle School. In appearance, he has brown hair and brown eyes, wears round glasses, and is typically seen in a high-collared yellow sweater, green baggy pants, and indigo-and-white rubber shoes.

His personality is characterized by sociability and maturity beyond his years, coupled with a notable capacity to adjust calmly to extraordinary or bizarre situations. This adaptability proves crucial as he uncovers hidden truths within his town. A distinct aspect involves occasionally breaking the fourth wall, directly narrating his thoughts and feelings to an implied audience, noted as a unique ability itself and suggested as a shared family quirk, as his father exhibits similar behavior.

Initially an observer, Hajime's involvement begins when he witnesses classmates Muryou Subaru and Kyouichi Moriguchi demonstrating astonishing psychic powers during a confrontation. This prompts him to meticulously document the increasingly strange events unfolding around him, adopting a role akin to a kid detective. He discovers that the older section of his town, Tenmo, harbors a centuries-old secret: leading families possess powers and control a giant guardian entity known as "Shingu" to protect Earth. Furthermore, many town residents are revealed to be intergalactic diplomats. He learns that the entire student council, including figures like Nayuta Moriyama and Kyouichi, are the current generation's guardians of Shingu and this secret.

As Hajime delves deeper, his role evolves from passive chronicler to active participant within the group protecting Earth. His growing friendships, particularly with the enigmatic Muryou and the stoic Nayuta, draw him further into their conflicts and responsibilities. His relationship with Nayuta shows signs of developing romantic interest, notably evident when his support helps her rally during a critical moment. Hajime proves to be an unfazed everyman, accepting the existence of aliens, psychic powers, and Earth's secret protectors with remarkable composure, becoming a trusted confidant and integral part of the group despite lacking their conventional supernatural abilities.

His family includes his mother, Kyoko Murata, who works digitizing ancient texts for the local library; his younger sister, Futaba, a bubbly sixth grader; and his father, Kazuo Murata, who shares Hajime's tendency for fourth-wall-breaking narration. Hajime's ordinary home life contrasts with the extraordinary secrets he uncovers.
