TV-Series
Description
Yatch, also known as Yashichi, is the primary rival to the series' protagonist, Mirmo. This ninja-type fairy displays impatience and a brash demeanor, frequently snapping at his henchmen, Sasuke and Hanzo. His appearance features ninja-like apparel and weaponry, reminiscent of Recca Hanabishi from *Flame of Recca*.

Summoned via a yellow mug, Yatch partners with the human student Azumi Hidaka. Their relationship is contentious; Azumi often treats him like a slave, forcing him to perform household chores which he resents yet accepts as necessary. Despite this friction, he shows loyalty, particularly when Azumi faces danger. He wields a magical triangle and favors the snack karinto.

Yatch exhibits a recurring habit of peeking at girls' underwear and sketching what he sees, frequently embarrassing Azumi. This trait persists across story arcs, including his wish for "thousands of underwear" during crystal-collecting in the *Wonderful* season. Initially allied with the antagonistic Warumo Gang, he follows their orders to attack humans. However, in a pivotal moment (episode 65), he defects after the gang endangers Azumi. Enraged, he protects her and allies with Mirmo and other protagonists to defeat the Warumo Gang, Akumi, and the Fantastic Switcho. This act repairs his friendship with Mirmo and severs ties with his former allies.

His development includes mentoring the clumsy Sasuke and Hanzo. In the *Golden* season, he prioritizes Azumi's safety over allegiance to the Warumo Gang, declaring her his irreplaceable partner. Later, in the *Charming* season, Azumi exploits his magic to interfere with Katie's romantic pursuits involving Koichi Sumita.

Yatch evolves from a self-serving rival to a protective ally. He attempts a heroic sacrifice using forbidden magic that would petrify him permanently to grant Azumi a wish. When she instead wishes for his restoration, it underscores their mutual, albeit grudging, care. His rivalry with Mirmo endures, but they collaborate in critical situations, ultimately solidifying their friendship by the series' conclusion.
