Description
Setsu Yūki, a central 14-year-old human character, is initially an honor student with brown hair, blue eyes, and a typically demure expression. Known for his quiet, bookish personality, he is often seen reading small books, occasionally normal-sized ones. Academically gifted and athletically capable, he participates in sports like basketball. His reserved nature projects a cool, calm demeanor, yet he demonstrates loyalty by helping friends when needed, even if it causes him embarrassment.
He forms a partnership with the fairy Rirumu after she summons herself to the human world, partly aware of Kaede Minami's crush on him. This partnership draws him into fairy-related adventures, though he maintains a grounded, "Only Sane Man" presence amidst chaos. His primary character arc centers on romantic entanglements: both Kaede and Azumi Hidaka compete for his affection, their initial childish squabbles annoying him. Over time, he develops genuine fondness for both, acknowledging their individual attractive qualities, leaving him conflicted.
A significant development occurs when childhood friend Haruka Morishita confesses her feelings, leading him to briefly grow closer to her. However, Haruka later recognizes his true feelings for Kaede and selflessly encourages him to pursue her. This prompts introspection, culminating in a heartfelt park confession to Kaede where he asks her to bring a watch as a symbolic gesture. Kaede accepts his proposal, resolving the love triangle. Azumi concedes defeat after a challenge to determine suitability but warns Kaede not to take the relationship for granted.
Beyond romance, his traits include a fear of green peppers and a dream of becoming a novelist. His physical appearance evolves from slim to lean and muscular. His outfits include a school uniform with a red necktie and a distinct red vest, white shirt, and blue pants during the "Charmingu" season.
His relationship with Rirumu involves minor conflicts, such as an argument preceding his confession to Kaede, but remains collaborative overall. He consistently balances empathy with practicality in supporting friends, embodying a "Savvy Guy" dynamic alongside Kaede’s "Energetic Girl" persona.
