Description
Holland Novak in *Eureka Seven: good night, sleep tight, young lovers* is an orphan subjected to military experiments by Dewey Sorenstam, causing rapid aging that leaves him with the appearance of a thirty-year-old despite being only seventeen. He killed and replaced the original Holland Novak. Driven by desperation to find "Neverland"—a world glimpsed in *Psalms of Planets* where he and fellow test subjects could escape their accelerated aging and imminent deaths—he leads Gekkostate antagonistically. His violent methods include manipulating Renton and Eureka to unlock the path to this world. Piloting the LFO Devilfish, he battles Renton, who sustains a fatal gunshot wound but ultimately defeats him.
His relationship with Talho Yūki, another rapidly aging test subject and childhood friend from their orphanage, anchors his arc. Upon learning Talho carries his child—a child unaffected by their condition—Holland abandons his quest for Neverland. This heel-face turn reflects his acceptance of mortality and prioritization of the next generation’s future.
Dewey Sorenstam, depicted as a deceased military leader unrelated to Holland in this continuity, designed the experiments. Holland assassinated Dewey prior to the film’s events, severing ties to the TV series’ lore where they were brothers. This act underscores Holland’s ruthless pursuit of survival.
