Description
Porphyras Patagos, called Porfi, lives with his parents Christophore and Anek and younger sister Mina in the Greek village of Simitra. His mechanic father sparks Porfi's deep passion for automobiles and dreams of running a service station. This focus sometimes creates friction with Mina, who feels overlooked. The close-knit family shares a strong bond; Porfi helps build their garage and shows natural mechanical talent early on.

A catastrophic earthquake in episode 12 destroys Simitra, killing his parents and many villagers. Porfi survives with Mina, his pet owl Apollo, and friend Zaïmis. Facing foster care separation, Porfi and Mina attempt escape together but become separated amidst the chaos when Mina accidentally boards a ship to Italy. This loss ignites Porfi's driving goal: a solitary quest across Europe to find his sister. He journeys through Greece, Italy, and France, enduring hunger, perilous encounters, and deep despair. His mechanical skills become crucial for survival, bartering repairs for food or shelter.

His journey unfolds in distinct phases. Early travels involve episodic encounters where he aids others, like mediating a feud between Sicilian families (episodes 26-27) and offering solace to disfigured woman Marissa (episode 36). These trials forge his resourcefulness and resilience. Key traumas include Apollo's sacrificial death shielding him from a hunter (episode 43), deepening his solitude. Later stages shift focus to Mina's parallel story in Paris under the care of actress Tiffany Aubert. Porfi eventually tracks her down in Paris, culminating in their emotional reunion during the Christmas finale (episodes 51-52). The arduous journey transforms him from a carefree boy into a determined, mature adolescent, fundamentally shaped by loss, perseverance, and unwavering devotion to family.
