Hinata Kagura is the wealthy granddaughter of the village headman and serves as the cheerful, popular class president in Takuma Hirose's middle school class. Known for her obliging, kind personality and frequent smiles, she displays notable clumsiness, such as falling down stairs where Takuma prevented injury. She addresses Takuma with extreme politeness as "Hirose-sama." Physically, she is short at 145 cm with a slim build, pale skin, and measurements of 80-56-82 cm. She possesses long, wavy blonde hair styled with spiky bangs and side hair, alongside blue, tareme-shaped eyes. Her typical attire is her school uniform: a pleated skirt, thigh-high stockings, and accessories like a headband or choker. A critical revelation uncovers she is not the original Hinata Kagura. Her true identity is Hotaru Kagura, younger sister of the drowned Hinata. After Hinata's death, their grandfather forced Hotaru to assume Hinata's identity, manipulating the village into believing Hotaru died, driven by his preference for the original Hinata. This made Hotaru "The Un-Favorite." The trauma caused her to adopt third-person speech, referring to herself as "Hinata" even in thought to maintain the role. Initially an "Extreme Doormat" due to family pressure, she gradually develops inner resolve. Her growth culminates when she defies her grandfather after his attempt to kill Hayami Kohinata. Hinata (as Hotaru) intervenes by calling the police, declaring her intent to expose his crimes and reclaiming agency: "This village doesn't belong to you!" Among relationships, she is one of the few villagers who refrains from bullying Hayami Kohinata. She shares a spiritual connection with Otoha, later revealed as the ghost of her deceased sister, the original Hinata. This connection intertwines with her journey toward self-acceptance and reconciliation with her true identity as Hotaru.
