TV-Series
Description
Haruki Takagami, husband of the late Miyako Takagami and father to Noboru and Tōru, resides in Mitsukawa. He has raised his sons alone since Miyako's death shortly after Tōru's birth. By occupation, he is a bus driver, consistently maintaining a mild-mannered and relaxed demeanor, often with a pleasant, friendly smile.

He possesses knowledge of the supernatural due to his late wife's background, including her friendship with the fox deity Kūgen Tenko. This contributes to his remarkable tolerance for mystical events within his home. When Kūgen moves in as the boys' guardian to protect Tōru from yōkai threats drawn by his Yin blood, Haruki accepts the arrangement without significant concern, stipulating only that Kūgen avoid conversing with strangers while in fox form.

Haruki exhibits extraordinary calm regarding the dangers surrounding his youngest son. The potential threats to Tōru are not openly treated as a serious issue in the household, reflecting Haruki's composed approach. He similarly remains unfazed by minor domestic disruptions caused by Kūgen, such as broken kitchenware, associated costs, or unappetizing meals, accepting these incidents with his characteristic smile. His unflappable nature suggests an innate ability to avoid being bothered by trivial inconveniences.

His given name Haruki combines "haru" (clear weather, light, sun, male) with "ki" (brightness, living). His surname Takagami derives from "taka" (tall, high) and "kami/gami" (above, top, upper).
