Description
Shinobu Godai is a 25-year-old former employee of Kuniharu Saotome's finance company, linked to the underworld. Orphaned with no known relatives and only six years of formal schooling, he learned civil law and office skills directly from Saotome. During this time, he clashed with a gang led by Vijaya. After defeating the gang's actual leader, Godai earned Vijaya's admiration, resulting in a six-month friendship ending when Vijaya joined the New Bloodline organization.
Prone to aggression, rudeness, and a volatile temper exacerbated by high blood pressure, Godai frequently uses violence or insults. Yet he exhibits surprising reliability, responsibility, and a softer side, especially towards Yako Katsuragi. He shares a bond with her as another unwilling subordinate of Neuro Nōgami, is easily embarrassed—crying when humiliated—and is a heavy smoker.
Godai first appears when Neuro and Yako seek office space at Saotome's company. After Neuro solves Saotome's murder, initially mistaken for suicide, he expels Godai and his associates.
