Description
Pilika Usui, also called Pirica Usui, is an Ainu tribe member from Hokkaidō, Japan, born on February 9, 1987. She is the younger sister of Horokeu Usui (Horohoro) and the daughter of Usui Lycan. Her long, light turquoise hair reaches just below her hips. She frequently wears traditional Ainu attire, including a headband with an Ainu symbol, a pink jacket, and a black mini skirt adorned with white Ainu markings. In casual moments, she dons low-cut tank tops, mini shorts, and sandals. Despite being younger, she stands roughly the same height as her brother.

Pilika exhibits a highly emotional and volatile personality, prone to sudden outbursts and breakdowns. She dedicates herself intensely to her brother's development as a shaman, often taking a strict and demanding approach to his training, mirroring Anna Kyoyama's methods with Yoh Asakura. Beyond combat training, she crafts all of Horohoro's clothing and battle outfits, showcasing her expertise in Ainu textile techniques. She is also proficient in traditional Ainu rituals, local cuisines, and cultural practices, reflecting her deep connection to her heritage.

Her primary goal aligns with Horohoro's mission to save the koropokkuru nature spirits by establishing a vast butterbur field. After Horohoro left home to pursue this dream, Pilika followed him to Tokyo to support his participation in the Shaman Fight. Following Horohoro's defeat by Yoh Asakura in the tournament's first round, she intervened during Yoh's celebration party, captured her brother, and forced him into rigorous training. She subsequently witnessed his victories in qualifying matches and accompanied him to the Shaman Fight's opening ceremony.

Throughout the tournament, Pilika provided critical support, including gifting Horohoro an ikupasuy (an Ainu prayer stick) to serve as a new medium for his Over Soul. When Horohoro traveled to China to rescue Tao Ren, she remained in Japan for about a month. Later, as the Shaman Fight intensified, her concern for Horohoro's safety led her to plead with their father to intervene, though his involvement proved brief.

When the Patch Tribe transported most shamans to the Mu continent, Pilika stayed behind with her father, the Asakura family, and the Tao family. She participated in a beach barbecue, assisting her father in preparing a large tuna while Anna Kyoyama relayed furyoku levels of the competing shamans. Pilika later appeared aboard the Soul Train alongside her father, their family spirit Gororo, her guardian spirit Torara, and Apollo, surprising Horohoro during the final confrontation with Hao Asakura.

Pilika possesses a guardian spirit named Torara, capable of water manipulation. Torara's abilities were not depicted in the original manga or anime; the spirit is characterized as shy and fearful of strangers. In the series' epilogue (Funbari no Uta), Pilika is mentioned to have begun dating someone, leaving Horohoro to manage their butterbur farm alone. Her name "Pirika" originates from the Ainu word "pirka," meaning "pretty" or "beautiful."
