Description
Yuko Amamiya's life unfolded across multiple timelines. Orphaned at six during a major Otowa earthquake, she was taken to a church orphanage. There she met Yuu Himura, forming a deep bond and affectionately calling him "onii-chan." Yuu, haunted by memories of his own deceased sister, eventually distanced himself, rejecting her with the words, "I don't want a sister!" This rejection profoundly affected Yuko, contributing to self-harming behavior. Soon after, the Amamiya family adopted her.

Her adopted brother, Akira Amamiya, subjected her to prolonged physical and sexual abuse. Having lost his younger sister in the same earthquake, Akira fixated on Yuko due to her resemblance. She endured this abuse silently, lacking any support or refuge. Years later, she enrolled at Otobane Academy, where Akira worked as an art teacher and Yuu was a student. Initially driven by resentment over his childhood rejection, she followed Yuu, aiming to cause him pain. Gradually, her anger subsided as she realized her childhood desire to be his "sister" masked deeper romantic feelings.

After reconciling, she revealed the abuse to Yuu. He helped her escape, and they lived secretly in a small apartment until Akira located and forcibly returned her. Following Akira's death, she reunited with Yuu to rebuild their life. During this time, she befriended a young girl named Miki (later Mizuki Hayama), teaching her the song "A Moon Filled Sky."

Her life ended tragically at age sixteen on Christmas Eve. Waiting for Yuu and Miki near a church, she noticed a ball in the street—a reminder of her childhood with Yuu. Reaching for it, a speeding car struck her. Severely injured, she dragged herself to a nearby tree, leaned against it, and sang "A Moon Filled Sky" as she died alone. Yuu and Miki later discovered her body there. Her headstone confirms her birth in 1982 and death in 1998.

After death, she manifested as an angelic spirit perpetually linked to the Otowa church, the site where she awaited Yuu on her final night. In this form, she appeared suddenly to offer guidance to troubled individuals like Hiro Hirono and Miyako Miyamura, often vanishing just as mysteriously. Her presence served as a narrative framing device, connecting various character arcs. She maintained a kind-hearted nature, masking inner pain behind a composed demeanor.

Twelve years after her death, her spirit finally reunited with Yuu in the church on Christmas. He presented her with the bouquet he never delivered on the night she died. They visited their symbolic starting point, the school rooftop, where she declared her final wish fulfilled. Urging Yuu to embrace happiness and stop dwelling on the past, she professed her enduring love and vanished, leaving behind a single white feather.

Physically, she stood 157 cm tall and weighed 42 kg, with black hair, pink eyes, and a pale complexion. In her spirit form, she wore distinctive attire resembling an East Orthodox nun’s habit—heavy black robes, a box hat, white gloves, and white hair binders resembling small angel wings. This appearance remained consistent throughout her post-death manifestations.
