Description
Mihato Uesugi is the older half-sister of Ren Uesugi, sharing the same father but different mothers. Their mother died during Ren's birth, triggering their father's abusive behavior, primarily directed at Ren. Mihato repeatedly intervened in these violent episodes, risking physical harm to shield her brother. This established her as Ren's primary emotional support throughout their troubled childhood. The siblings eventually fled their abusive home together, seeking safety and employment elsewhere.

Mihato openly acknowledges a pronounced brother complex, demonstrating intense devotion to Ren. She exhibits visible jealousy and distress when other females interact closely with him, exemplified by Ageha Kuki kissing Ren. This jealousy sometimes fuels darkly comedic internal fantasies about eliminating romantic rivals, though she is consistently stopped before acting. Despite working in the same household, separation from Ren during duties causes her loneliness, fueling a persistent desire to remain near him constantly.

Physically, Mihato possesses ochre (brown) hair, green eyes, and stands 167 cm tall. She is known for concealing between 47 to 49 everyday items on her person, retrieving them unexpectedly as needed. Her personality displays a duality: typically gentle, diligent, and nurturing, she shifts into a dangerously intense demeanor when Ren's attention is diverted or she perceives a threat to their bond. This transformation is visually signaled in some adaptations by a green aura and a rougher vocal tone.

Employed as Miyu Kuonji's personal maid, Mihato performs her duties with exceptional dedication. She assists Miyu with daily routines like dressing, scheduling, and household management, fostering a sisterly bond despite Miyu being older. Mihato also collaborates with other staff, notably assisting Beni in kitchen operations. Her commitment to the Kuonji household stems from viewing it as the stable, violence-free environment she and Ren longed for during their upbringing. She explicitly states she would have rejected the position had Ren not been hired alongside her.

In conflicts, especially those involving Ren, Mihato employs a distinctive disciplinary technique called "Hato-Dekopin," involving a sharp finger flick to the offender's forehead, notably used against Beni. Her protective instincts extend beyond Ren; she actively contributes to defending the Kuonji household when necessary, reinforcing her integration into their domestic life.
