Description
Lieutenant Commander Vexille Serra commands within the American special forces unit SWORD. Her background boasts extensive military training and combat experience honed within this anti-terrorism organization. SWORD deploys her to spearhead an unauthorized infiltration mission into technologically isolated Japan after intelligence exposes banned cybernetic research violations by Daiwa Heavy Industries.

During the mission, Vexille becomes the sole survivor after Japanese security forces detect and eliminate most of her team. Forced to navigate Tokyo's ruins alone, she uncovers Daiwa's secret: Japan's population underwent forced nanotechnological conversion into synthetic beings, stripping most citizens of free will. Her core military objective shifts when she encounters a resistance group battling Daiwa's control.

Vexille forges an operational alliance with resistance leader Maria, deploying her combat expertise and flight-capable armor in tactical strikes against Daiwa. Leveraging her equipment, the resistance transmits critical data on Japan's condition, exposing the truth to the outside world. Her personal connection to captured SWORD commander Leon Fayden influences key decisions during this collaboration, especially when Maria bristles at Leon's protective focus on Vexille.

Her defining trait is a documented distrust of advanced machinery, fueling her determination to halt Daiwa's experiments. This drive culminates in a confrontation with Daiwa executive Kisaragi, where she discovers his retained humanity despite his horrific projects. Vexille participates in the final assault on Daiwa's headquarters, pursuing Kisaragi through the collapsing complex. Her actions directly prevent his escape before the mechanical entities called Jags consume both Kisaragi and Maria.

Following the mission's conclusion, Vexille voices a renewed certainty about human resilience during her extraction from Japan. Witnessing both technological horror and defiant human resistance cements her perspective on humanity's enduring spirit against corporate exploitation.
