Description
Chikorita operates as part of Team Go-Getters alongside Charmander and Squirtle, coordinating rescue missions from their base. She first encounters Squirtle after his transformation into a Pokémon, noting his claims of once being human. Though amused by his assertions, she dismisses them initially while integrating him into the team.
The Whiscash elder assigns Team Go-Getters a mission to rescue Pikachu from Sinister Cave, competing against Team Meanies—Gengar, Ekans, and Medicham. Chikorita suggests gathering supplies at Kecleon Brothers' shop, only to find Team Meanies bought all available items. When Team Meanies mocks them and Ekans eats their Oran Berries, leaving only two, Aunt Kangaskhan intervenes by providing Pecha Scarves and Corsola Twigs.
Inside Sinister Cave, Team Go-Getters discovers Pichu abandoned by Team Meanies and revives him with an Oran Berry. Chikorita’s Pecha Scarf shields the team from Shroomish’s Poison Powder. After Skarmory captures Pichu at the cave’s end and flies to a mountain summit, Team Go-Getters ascends, finding the defeated Team Meanies. They share their final Oran Berry, persuading a hesitant Gengar by emphasizing Pokémon solidarity.
At the summit, Skarmory attacks. Chikorita’s Razor Leaf fails when Skarmory deflects it with Whirlwind and counters with Steel Wing. After retreating, the team strategizes using Corsola Twigs. Charmander distracts Skarmory with Flamethrower while Chikorita throws her twig but misses. Squirtle tackles Skarmory to destabilize it. When Charmander’s throw fails, Pikachu kicks a seed into Squirtle’s mouth, enabling Squirtle’s Water Gun. A combined Razor Leaf, Flamethrower, and Water Gun assault defeats Skarmory, rescuing Pikachu and Pichu.
Throughout, Chikorita shifts from skepticism about Squirtle to fully leveraging his abilities within the team. Her battle contributions, though not individually decisive, prove vital to cooperative victories. The Pecha Scarves and Corsola Twigs she secured directly enable critical mission successes, reflecting her practical approach to rescues.
