Angada, son of vanara king Vali and Queen Tara, is prince of Kishkindha. He accepts Rama's righteousness after Rama aids Sugriva in defeating Vali, pledging allegiance to Rama's mission to rescue Sita. King Sugriva confirms Angada's position as prince, entrusting him with significant duties. Angada commands the southern search party, including Hanuman and Jambavanta, successfully locating Sita in Lanka after overcoming obstacles and gathering vital intelligence. Rama later sends Angada as his final emissary to Ravana's court, urging Sita's return to prevent war. When Ravana refuses and offers bribes, Angada defies the court: if any rakshasa can lift his foot, Rama will abandon his quest. Multiple warriors, including Indrajit, fail. Angada stomps the ground, causing Ravana to fall and his crown to dislodge. Seizing the crown, Angada hurls it toward Rama's camp before escaping unharmed. During the Lanka war, Angada fights valiantly, achieving key victories like slaying Ravana's son Narantaka on the first day and later defeating chief general Mahaparshva. After Ravana's defeat and Rama's return, Sugriva eventually retires, appointing Angada as the new king of Kishkindha, restoring the throne to Vali's lineage. Years later, during Rama's Ashwamedha yajna, Angada serves as Shatrughna's diplomat when King Suratha of Nagaloka captures the sacrificial horse. Angada successfully negotiates the horse's release, securing a peaceful resolution and enabling Rama's visit to Nagaloka.
