Komba O'Charlie ranks among the world's top five Bakugan brawlers, specializing in the Ventus attribute. His primary partner is Ventus Harpus, though he also commands other Ventus Bakugan like El Condor and Bee Striker. Residing in Bakugan Valley, he is identified as a neighbor to Julie Makimoto. Early in the series, Naga brainwashes Komba, turning him into a minion for Masquerade. Under this influence, he exhibits a disrespectful and rude personality, frequently insulting others as "chumps" and deriding Billy Gilbert as "double digits." He displays notable acrobatic abilities during battles, performing flips when throwing Bakugan and balancing on one foot. Harpus mirrors this arrogant attitude, particularly towards Shun Kazami’s Skyress. Komba faces Shun Kazami in two significant battles. The first is a tag-team match alongside Billy against Shun and Julie, ending in Komba’s defeat. The second, a one-on-one confrontation, is overwhelmingly one-sided; Shun strategically dispatches two of Komba’s Bakugan using ability cards before defeating Harpus with a triple Ventus combo. Following this loss, Komba undergoes a shift in attitude, becoming markedly respectful towards Shun. He acknowledges Shun’s superiority, refers to him as "Master Shun" ("Shun-nii" in Japanese), and requests to become his student, though he retains some of his earlier brashness towards others. Freed from Naga’s control, Komba allies with the Battle Brawlers. He participates in key battles, including a victorious tag-team match with Julio Santana and Shun against Hairadee, and joins the collective effort of multiple brawlers to defeat Centorrior and Druman in the final showdown, where Harpus is eliminated. Komba later appears only briefly in the second season, *New Vestroia*, via a group photograph from the first season shown by Dan Kuso, implying his continued association and reunion with Harpus after the Bakugan's liberation. Komba and Julio Santana are noted as the only former minions of Masquerade who do not physically appear in *New Vestroia*. A continuity discrepancy exists regarding Komba’s residence: Julie identifies him as her neighbor in Bakugan Valley (located in Australia in the English dub), but he is later depicted returning to Kenya after leaving Masquerade’s service. This inconsistency is attributed to a dub error, as the original Japanese version clarifies Julie was introducing Billy to the Battle Brawlers, not asserting Komba’s residency near her.
