Maury (also identified as Maurice in one source) is a Pokémon Trainer and Coordinator from the Sinnoh region, appearing exclusively within the film "Pokémon: The Rise of Darkrai" and its related media. He is primarily recognized for his Torterra. Arriving in Alamos Town alongside fellow trainers Kai (with Empoleon) and Allegra (with Infernape), an accidental collision between Ash and Maury's Torterra triggers a battle. During this encounter, Ash's Pikachu uses Thunderbolt, which proves ineffective against Torterra's Ground typing, before defeating it with Iron Tail.

Later, Maury and Torterra join Baron Alberto's effort to confront Darkrai, mistakenly believed to be causing spatial disturbances in the town. Torterra attacks Darkrai with Bullet Seed but is quickly incapacitated by Darkrai's Dark Void, falling asleep alongside other Pokémon. After awakening, Torterra helps mitigate the town's disintegration by using Solar Beam to slow the process.

Following these events, Maury participates in the Alamos Town Pokémon Contest. He advances to the Battle Stage but is defeated by Kai and Empoleon; Torterra is knocked out by Empoleon's Ice Beam. Maury is not present onstage when Allegra receives the winning Ribbon.

Maury and his Torterra make a brief cameo appearance in the separate continuity film "Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!", depicted in Alamos Town again without new narrative details.
