Takeshi Mishima, known as his high school's class playboy for his string of short relationships, secretly harbors unresolved feelings for Shouko, his former middle school teacher, despite the significant age gap and societal taboos. After ending his latest relationship, he asks classmate Harada Kusuko, who privately likes him, to be his date for a class trip to Kyoto. She accepts, but Takeshi's persistent emotional connection to Shouko, who faces marital issues and whom he continues to see against his friend Kotaro's objections, complicates their new dynamic.
