TV-Series
Description
Sonia Sky, known as Misora Hibiki in the Japanese version, serves as a central heroine in the anime adaptation. A famous young pop singer, she encounters the FM-ian Lyra, leading to their EM Wave Change transformation into Lyra Note (Harp Note in Japan). This occurs after Lyra attempts to invade Sonia's heart unsuccessfully and later takes control during sleep; Sonia ultimately retains control during battles.

Her personality differs significantly between media. The anime depicts her as strong-willed, temperamental, and quick to anger, demonstrated by kicking coconuts from a palm tree or effortlessly tying up her manager. She rebels against singing songs written for her mother (unmentioned in the anime) and feels uncomfortable wearing flashy idol outfits, rejecting her manager's suggestions. Her overt romantic interest in Geo Stelar leads to impulsive actions like canceling TV commitments due to jealousy. She displays a carefree attitude, Wave Changing to travel the world for relaxation despite inconveniencing her manager and fans. In contrast, her game counterpart (Sonia Strumm) shares a spunky, outspoken demeanor but experiences distinct story arcs. Both versions highlight her determination to write original songs and her willingness to protect Geo, such as throwing herself in front of an attack from Queen Ophiuca in the games, resulting in poisoning.

Across the anime's first season, Sonia participates in events like the "Popstar Charity Swimming Contest," winning while expressing embarrassment about her swimsuit. She often bickers with Luna over Geo's attention and directly questions him about his preferences. In the sequel series *Tribe*, she accompanies Geo globally to recover ancient OOPArts. Here, she exhibits heightened perkiness but becomes easily bored without Geo, expressing frustration when excluded from missions; Cancer Bubble serves as her ineffective bodyguard.

In the game series, her narrative deepens with themes of loss and loyalty. Like Geo, she grapples with her mother's death, forming a bond over shared grief. In *Mega Man Star Force 2*, Hollow blackmails her into serving Dr. Vega to ensure Geo's safety. This leads her to temporarily cut their Brother Band connection and oppose Mega Man in the Bermuda Maze. After defeat, she explains her actions were to protect Geo, later aiding him in locating Mu's stronghold. By *Mega Man Star Force 3*, she allies formally with the Satella Police under Project TC (registration No. 004) and pursues acting, appearing in a TV drama.

Lyra, the FM-ian partnered with Sonia, is based on the constellation Lyra and often hides in Sonia's guitar. Initially aligned with the FM-ian king, Lyra abandons this allegiance after bonding with Sonia and recognizing the futility of fighting Mega Man. Lyra's personality resembles a high-status figure, frequently arguing with Omega-Xis.

Sonia is the only character with an altered English last name between game and anime adaptations (Strumm to Sky) and the only one whose EM Wave Change form was renamed (Harp Note to Lyra Note). She also received entirely new transformation animations in the anime. Her discography includes songs like "Feel Inside" and "I Gave My Heart," with Japanese themes "Heart Wave" and "Kizuna Wave."
