TV-Series
Description
Aaron Boreal, also known as Mamoru Amachi (天地 守) in Japanese media, is a key supporting character. He founded and leads the space research institute AMAKEN. Aaron was a close friend and former coworker of Kelvin Stelar, Geo Stelar's father, at the AMAKEN Space Agency before Kelvin vanished during the Peace space station incident. Aaron holds onto hope for Kelvin's return and becomes protective of Geo and his mother, Hope Stelar.
He personally delivers the news of Kelvin's disappearance to Geo and Hope. Aaron gives Geo the Visualizer, a device Kelvin developed enabling humans to see the electromagnetic (EM) Wave World. This act indirectly leads to Geo's first encounter with the FM-ian Omega-Xis. In the anime, Aaron actively encourages Geo to overcome his isolation, return to school, and rebuild social connections following his father's disappearance. He becomes the first character to learn Geo's secret identity as Mega Man.
Aaron exhibits a friendly, generous, and deeply caring personality toward colleagues and friends. He demonstrates consistent concern for others' well-being, regularly checking on coworkers and offering support during difficult times. This extends to treating Geo almost like a son, providing emotional support during Geo's grief. Aaron maintains an optimistic outlook about Kelvin's potential survival.
Throughout the series, Aaron provides technical assistance and resources. He invites Geo to AMAKEN, an event leading to a confrontation when former colleague Tom Dubious (as Cygnus Wing) traps visitors in a space simulator, accusing Aaron of stealing credit for the FlapPack invention. After Mega Man resolves the situation, Aaron reconciles with Tom, reestablishing their friendship. Aaron later shelters Sonia Strumm when she seeks refuge from her employer at AMAKEN, though this protection is temporary. He also aids Geo in accessing a space station to stop the FM King from destroying Earth, confirming Geo's identity as Mega Man when Omega-Xis directly approaches him for help.
Later, Aaron contributes to developing the Star Carrier communication device. He appears at its sales location in a shopping plaza, upgrading Geo's device and providing him with a Blank Card. He sends Geo a Giga Card via email before Geo's journey to Mu. During research into the Strong incident, Aaron attempts to resurrect Luna Platz but determines scattered data fragments make full restoration impossible. He advises Geo on potential Noise-related dangers and suggests consulting Dr. Goodall.
The etymology of his name reflects his character: "Aaron" derives from Hebrew meaning "high mountain" or "exalted," while "Boreal" originates from Latin "borealis" (northern) and Greek "Boreas" (north wind), possibly referencing aurora borealis or Borealis constellations related to his space research. His Japanese name "Mamoru" means "protector" or "to protect," and "Amachi" means "Heaven and Earth."
Aaron's narrative role parallels Yuichiro Hikari from the Mega Man Battle Network series, as both lead technological research facilities and support the protagonists through scientific knowledge.
