Description
Natsu Tanimoto, alias Hermit, harbors a complex persona forged through a tumultuous past. Orphaned alongside his sister Kaede in his youth, he was adopted by a wealthy businessman whose death bequeathed him a company ravaged by corruption. Kaede’s dying words—“don’t lose”—fueled an unyielding resolve to never concede defeat. Targeted by those same corrupt forces, Natsu’s salvation came through Ogata Isshinsai, catapulting him into Ragnarök’s ranks. There, he bargained with Sōgetsu Ma—a Chinese martial arts master—exchanging rare wines for tutelage in lethal combat.

As Ragnarök’s Sixth Fist, Natsu meticulously crafted the guise of a model Kōryō High student—academically gifted, drama club president—to perfect deception. Behind this affable mask lies a calculating strategist: cold, prideful, and wielding social charm as a weapon. He masks his combat-hardened physique and martial skill, manipulating encounters to dominate unseen. His rivalry with Kenichi Shirahama sparked through orchestrated ambushes to gauge Kenichi’s strength, yet relentless clashes forged grudging respect. Though he spurns the label of friendship, Natsu’s defenses erode, notably around Honoka Shirahama. Guarding her as a surrogate sister, she becomes an unconscious echo of Kaede, softening his edges.

Natsu’s combat mastery stems from Chinese Kenpo, honing Hikaken and Hakkyokuken to command range and unleash devastation. Under Sōgetsu Ma’s merciless regimen—fueled by liquor and vintage wines—he ascended swiftly, outmatching superiors like Berserker through tactical brilliance and enhanced physicality. Yet his true battle rages within: torn between Katsujinken’s life-saving ideals and Satsujinken’s lethal pragmatism. Though drawn to the latter, moments like sparing Siegfried reveal a conscience wrestling against its chains.

Betraying Ragnarök to shield Honoka from Loki’s machinations, Natsu pivoted to the Shinpaku Alliance for vengeance, then YOMI to extract his master from Satsujinken’s grip. Each alliance underscores his duel between solitude and bonds—seen in begrudgingly acknowledging Kenichi while denying camaraderie. He veils fragility behind calculated logic, yet final acts betray loyalty to kin. Though unresolved, his journey hints at metamorphosis, a warrior still balancing on the knife’s edge of destiny.
