Description
Hayato Fūrinji, hailed as “The Invincible Superman” and “Elder,” dominates martial arts legend as the undefeated headmaster of Ryōzanpaku Dojo. Towering and muscular, his blonde hair, piercing blue eyes, and chest-length beard contrast a deceptively youthful face masking over nine decades of life. His superhuman feats—sprinting across water, twisting battleship cannons, and shredding trees barehanded—unfold even while suppressing his power to a mere 0.0001%, a testament to his unfathomable strength.

Born into the Fūrinji Clan, his youth brimmed with reckless violence, climaxing in a solo massacre against 500 Shaolin masters. Maturity tempered him into a guardian of justice, mentoring disciples while confronting global evils. During World War II, he allied with Mikumo Kushinada to dismantle Yami’s strongholds, only to sever ties when she embraced brutality. Personal tragedy struck with his daughter-in-law’s death, leaving him to raise his granddaughter Miu after his son Saiga vanished.

At Ryōzanpaku, he commands elite warriors with a blend of playful mischief and stern authority, devising survivalist trials in lethal environments. His thinly veiled alter ego, “Garyū X,” masquerades as a 20-year-old disciple, amusingly unconvincing yet unchallenged. He dotes on Kenichi Shirahama, Miu’s closest ally, dubbing him “Ken-chan” while drilling him mercilessly—all while jesting that Kenichi must defeat him to win Miu’s hand.

A martial arts savant, he wields hybrid combat styles, manipulates anatomy, and commands 108 legendary techniques, including the impervious Seikūken and Ryūsui Seikūken defenses. His mimicry adapts any observed skill, amplified by hypersonic shouts and split-body coordination. Yet his might bows to an unyielding code: he refuses to harm children or animals, even sparing a fox cub mid-combat.

In battles like the D of D tournament or clashes with Yami, he strategically shields allies and crushes threats. Miu’s safety anchors his heart, driving frenzied global hunts when she’s abducted and tearful relief at her rescue. Haunted by Saiga’s fall and Mikumo’s corruption, he channels guilt into steering protégés from darkness.

As Yami fractures and Ryōzanpaku disbands, he shifts to quieter guidance, yet his vow—that only a victor over him may wed Miu—endures. Kenichi’s rise, marked by justice and mastery of techniques like Korui Nuki, earns his approval, hinting at a future where the student might surpass the master, finally claiming the right to Miu’s side.
