Sudowoodo, a Rock-type known as the Imitation Pokémon, possesses a brown, log-shaped body dotted with yellow spots. It has short legs ending in toeless feet and thin forelegs tipped with three green spheres. A forked, branch-like structure extends from its head, shorter on females than on males. Despite its convincing tree-like appearance, its body is composed of rock, not plant matter.
This Pokémon relies on mimicry for survival, standing motionless along paths to disguise itself as a tree and evade enemies. It maintains this camouflage out of an extreme aversion to water; its Rock-type nature makes it weak to water, causing it to flee for shelter at the first hint of rain. The disguise is not flawless. Its green forelegs remain green even in winter, unlike real trees, and its branches may shake on a windless day, revealing its true nature.
Sudowoodo evolves from Bonsly when that Pokémon levels up while knowing the move Mimic.
In the Diamond & Pearl anime series, a Sudowoodo is owned by Brock. It came into his possession when his Bonsly evolved after using the move Mimic in battle.
This Pokémon also appears in the film *Pokémon the Movie: The Power of Us*, where a wild Sudowoodo begins to follow a character named Callahan after he shows it pity. The Sudowoodo eventually allows Callahan to capture it, and together they help save a city from a spreading fire and poisonous spores.
