Bill Rogers
Description
Bill Rogers is an American voice actor with a career spanning over two decades, extensively involved in English dubs of anime, as well as in video games and animation. He began his voice-over career in 2001 with the anime series Assemble Insert and has since worked with various studios, including DuArt Film and Video and Bang Zoom! Entertainment. While he was based in New York for many years, he later relocated to Los Angeles in 2015.
Rogers is perhaps best known for his long-running role as Brock in the English-language version of the Pokémon anime. He took over the role starting from the ninth season and has voiced the character in numerous subsequent series, including Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl, Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon, and films such as Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution and Pokémon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life. His work in the Pokémon franchise extends to voicing many other characters and Pokémon creatures, including Brock's Croagunk, Sudowoodo, Chimchar, Lucario, and the villain Ghetsis, as well as characters in related projects like Pokémon Generations.
Beyond his iconic role in Pokémon, Rogers has built a diverse filmography across many other anime series. He voiced Ken Matsumura in both seasons of Gundam Build Divers Re:RISE, Tohma Seguchi in Gravitation, and Soichiro Tanaka in Genshiken. His other credits include roles such as Gakushuu and the Narrator in Ikki Tousen: Dragon Destiny, Meleoron and Majitani in Hunter x Hunter (2011), Groribas in One-Punch Man, and Josh Emerson in Godzilla: The Planet Eater. He also voiced Qasim in Cagaster of an Insect Cage, TK McCabe in Super Crooks, and Mirage in Spriggan.
In addition to his work in front of the microphone, Rogers also works behind the scenes as a voice director and scriptwriter, contributing to projects such as the Street Fighter V video game and the Queen's Blade: Beautiful Warriors anime. He has an extensive portfolio in video game voice acting as well, with notable performances including King Rhoam Bosphoramus Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Urien in Street Fighter V, Lucien in Mr Love: Queen's Choice, and various roles in the Super Smash Bros. series.
