Description
Mami Sakura attends Tobita Junior High School in Tokyo's suburban Sama Hill area. She unexpectedly gains supernatural powers: telekinesis with cellular-level precision, telepathy, levitation capable of affecting multiple objects, and involuntary teleportation triggered by approaching projectiles, causing collisions. Her childhood friend and classmate, Kazuo Takahata, creates a heart-shaped brooch "Teleportation Gun" that shoots tiny marbles, enabling her to control teleportation.
Mami secretly uses these abilities to detect and assist people in distress, hiding them from her parents with Kazuo's help. Kazuo reveals her French ancestry through her paternal grandmother, including ancestors persecuted as witches, deterring her from family disclosure. Her father, artist Juurou Sakura, frequently uses her as a nude model for paintings in exchange for an increased allowance, referring to her as "Mami-kō" with mild disdain.
