Keiko Yokozawa is a highly respected Japanese voice actress, actress, and narrator, best known for her long-running role as Dorami, the sister of Doraemon, in the beloved anime series. Born on September 2, 1952, in Niigata City, Japan, she began her career after graduating from Niigata Prefectural Niigata High School and later attending the Haikyo Drama Research Institute, affiliated with the Tokyo Actors' Consumer's Cooperative Society.
Her interest in performing arts was encouraged from a young age when her parents enrolled her in a children's theater company to help her master standard Japanese. Initially considering a path in science or as a news announcer, she ultimately pursued voice acting, debuting in 1975 with a role in the anime series Time Bokan. In 1988, she founded her own talent management agency, YU-RIN Pro, and continues to serve as its representative, dedicating herself to training new voice actors at her school.
Yokozawa's career is marked by a wide array of iconic roles, particularly throughout the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. She is most celebrated for voicing Dorami in the Doraemon franchise, a role she held for 25 years from 1979 to 2005.
