OVA
Description
Keisaku Satou hails from one of Misaki City's oldest and wealthiest families, yet ongoing feuds with relatives resulted in him living alone in a small mansion under housekeeper care. This isolation fueled out-of-control behavior during junior high school. By high school, he attended Misaki Municipal High School as a classmate of Yūji Sakai. He initially bonded with Eita Tanaka over skipping class before forming wider friendships.

Physically, Keisaku possesses light-brown hair reaching his neck, a slender build, dark blue-violet pupils, a fair complexion, and stands 167 cm tall. His personality blends cheerfulness and sociability with an underlying broodiness stemming from his affluent upbringing complex. In social settings, he often livens group dynamics and enjoys festivals, though he harbors a tendency to overthink situations and strive for optimal outcomes.

A pivotal development occurs when the Flame Haze Margery Daw arrives in Misaki City and selects Keisaku and Eita as guides. They discover the magical map Crystal Altar, leading them to support Margery's operations. His vacant family mansion becomes her residence. Keisaku gradually develops romantic feelings for Margery, concealing them initially. These emotions surface intensely when he feels betrayed by her actions, demonstrating deeper attachment than Eita's. His loyalty drives him to train for combat relevance, viewing Yūji Sakai as a rival after learning of Yūji's Flame Haze training. Eventually, he accepts their differing paths and shifts focus to academic improvement, planning to support Margery through non-combat roles like working at the Outlaw.

During the OVA "Koi to Onsen no Kōgai Gakushū!", Keisaku participates in a school field trip. He exhibits boredom during the bus ride and complains about the itinerary, particularly under group leader Hayato Ike's supervision. At a forest shrine, he races Eita up the "Stairs of Marriage," unaware this action fuels classmate Matake Ogata's mistaken belief that he rivals her for Eita's affection. Later, at a hot spring inn, he jokes with Eita about Matake potentially peeking at them changing. He also joins Eita in attempting to spy on the girls' bath—only to find them prepared in swimsuits—resulting in their expulsion. His guidebook research inadvertently leads Matake to a romantic pier location, furthering her misunderstanding about his intentions toward Eita. These interactions highlight his role within the class dynamic.

Keisaku's character arc culminates when Margery falls comatose. Urged by Eita and Marchosias, he visits her and confesses his love through a kiss, awakening her. This act solidifies their relationship, which they later consummate. Margery casts a protective spell on him, granting temporary power equivalent to a novice Flame Haze to safeguard him during conflicts, though it offers limited combat utility. Following the creation of Xanadu—a realm ending the Flame Haze-Denizen war—his aspiration to become a Flame Haze becomes obsolete, redirecting his commitment toward supporting Margery through civilian means.
