Description
Pippo, a carrier pigeon met by chipmunk Glikko in the city, sparks Glikko's quest by describing the expansive North Forest and its wild chipmunks living freely in nature. This conversation motivates Glikko to seek his ancestral home. The next day, Pippo returns to urgently warn of journey dangers like foxes and hawks, revealing his concern for Glikko's safety. During this warning, both evade an attack from a neighbor's cat. Though skeptical of Glikko's survival chances alone, Pippo respects his resolve.

Later, Pippo reappears when Glikko and companion Nono reach the North Forest, confirming their arrival. As the chipmunks celebrate, Pippo spots a stalking fox and bravely distracts it during its attack, enduring being battered aside. After Glikko defeats the fox, Pippo joins their victory feast. At Glikko’s request, he agrees to fly back to the city to inform Glikko’s sister Fluff about the forest before departing for a migration race.

Pippo’s dialogue weaves philosophical themes of freedom and belonging, tying chipmunk behavior to universal ideals. His role remains consistently supportive through guidance, warnings, and direct intervention at pivotal moments.
