Ezio Ramos was a Brazilian actor and voice actor, born in São Paulo on August 19, 1936, who became a prominent figure in the Brazilian dubbing industry for his work on international films and Japanese anime. He passed away on June 6, 1999, in his hometown.
Ramos began his entertainment career in the 1950s in radio, working as an actor and director at Rádio São Paulo. He transitioned to voice acting, or dubbing, in the early 1960s at a São Paulo studio, a move that built directly upon his experience in radio performance. Over a career spanning more than four decades, he worked with numerous dubbing studios in the city, becoming a versatile and recognized talent in the industry.
He is credited with providing the Brazilian Portuguese voice for a wide array of characters in Japanese animation. These roles include Lancelot in Entaku no Kishi Monogatari: Moero Arthur, Kei in Ai City, Kane in Scoopers, Vishvamitra in Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama, Pippo in Enchanted Journey, Abril in Sekai Meisaku Dōwa: Mori wa Ikiteiru, Huck in Alibaba to Yonjubiki no Tozuku, and Jet Link, known as Cyborg 002, in the 1968 Cyborg 009 television series.
Beyond these roles, his voice became widely known in Brazil for several other significant parts. He was the original voice of Afrodite de Peixes in the classic dubbing of the anime Saint Seiya and voiced the protagonist Arsene Lupin III in the film Lupin III: The Legend of the Gold of Babylon. His work also extended to Western animation, where he was the voice of Peter Venkman in The Real Ghostbusters and Race Bannon in The New Adventures of Jonny Quest.
