Description
Travastila Anister, known as Trava, is an ex-military Power pilot and racer. Powers are mech-ships that enhance a pilot's abilities. He served as the Intergalactic Military's top Power-rider but was discharged alongside his personal mechanic, Shinkai. His discharge resulted from his skills vastly exceeding other pilots, making military command uncomfortable. After their service, Trava and Shinkai became freelance planetary surveyors, taking high-risk jobs across various planets. These jobs include missions to "mark" uncharted or hazardous areas like Area 78 on Planet Fable, often involving dangerous planetary research. Their primary goal is earning sufficient credits to enter the "Fist Planet," the ultimate Power fistfighting tournament featuring battles between customized mech-ships. The tournament's grand prize is 5 billion Gigas, intended to pay off loans for their ship and the Speed Master, potentially settling other debts.

Trava pilots the Speed Master, a Power unit customized by Shinkai from their former military equipment, holding an undefeated record in amateur Power fights. Trava exhibits a highly confident, impulsive, and sometimes reckless personality. He frequently insists on pursuing risky actions, such as launching the Speed Master to retrieve a drifting emergency pod despite fuel concerns. He dismisses Shinkai's cautious objections by calling him "baldy" and declaring there are no "what ifs." He expresses unwavering belief in his instincts and piloting abilities, claiming he could "feel" a survivor in the pod and asserting he was the military's best pilot. His relationship with Shinkai involves constant bickering and teasing, particularly about Shinkai's appearance, underpinned by deep mutual reliance forged through their shared military history and current partnership.

To fund entry into Fist Planet, Trava and Shinkai transition into underground racing. They compete in the Redline race using the Speed Master, representing another high-stakes opportunity to earn the necessary credits for their tournament ambitions, continuing their pattern of dangerous, high-paying jobs. Their background in planetary survey work and mech piloting directly supports their racing endeavors.
