Asuka Hina is the 17-year-old younger sister of Yusuke Hina, who died in an accident one year before the events of *Memories Off #5: Togireta Film*. She attends Ayazono High School as a third-year student and works part-time at a fast food restaurant alongside the protagonist, Haruto Kawai.

Bright, friendly, and brave, Asuka displays a mischievous, almost "devil-like" personality. However, her sense of direction is so poor it becomes hazardous, described as "like a deadly machine with no common sense." A former child actress in television dramas, she is no longer active in that profession. Her hobbies include playing fighting games and drinking hot Nata de coco juice.

Asuka bears deep resentment toward Mahiro Sendou, whom she blames for her brother Yusuke's death. This anger initially extends toward others connected to the tragedy, including members of the Chihaya University Movie society. Despite her grief, she maintains a close friendship with her classmate Miumi Sawarabi, Haruto's cousin.

Approximately six months later, in the sequel *Memories Off #5: Encore*, Asuka is 18 years old. Her character development focuses on navigating life after the conflicts surrounding her brother's death are resolved. Shuuji Ozu, another member of the university film society, develops romantic feelings for her.

Her story explores themes of guilt, forgiveness, and moving forward after loss. Her relationships evolve across both installments, particularly her acceptance of Mahiro's role in Yusuke's accident and her interactions with the film society members.
