Description
Dr. Yung, the central antagonist of the Pokémon anime special *The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon*, operates under the alias Mirage Master. His expulsion from the Pokémon Institute followed unethical experiments deemed cruel to Pokémon, leaving him embittered and fueling his quest for revenge against the scientific community that rejected him.

He invented the Mirage System, technology generating holographic Mirage Pokémon possessing no elemental weaknesses and capable of using any attack. Initially presenting himself as a polite scientist, Dr. Yung invited Professor Oak, Ash Ketchum, and companions to demonstrate his invention, using a Mirage Aggron to defeat Misty in battle.

His true persona, the Mirage Master, was revealed via a holographic decoy that staged the kidnapping of himself and Professor Oak. Under this guise, he tortured Professor Oak to extract the password to Oak's global Pokémon research database. He also captured Ash's Pikachu, scanning its memories to access data on legendary Pokémon like Lugia and Celebi, causing Pikachu significant pain. His goal was creating a flawless, ultimate Pokémon without the imperfections he perceived in natural creatures.

Utilizing the stolen data, Dr. Yung created a Mirage Mewtwo as the pinnacle of his work, alongside numerous other Mirage Pokémon: Entei, Zapdos, Articuno, Aerodactyl, Omastar, Kabutops, Armaldo, Houndoom, Absol, Mightyena, Ursaring, Machoke, Machamp, and Magnemite to enforce his will. A Mirage Mew, deemed a "flawed specimen" due to its independent will and empathy, formed inadvertently and resisted his control, ultimately aiding the heroes by weakening Mirage Mewtwo.

Dr. Yung exhibits megalomania, cruelty, and a sociopathic disregard for life, viewing all Pokémon as expendable tools and expressing contempt for their flaws. His actions encompass torture, attempted murder, and deploying destructive weapons like missiles. After Professor Oak deduced his dual identity, Dr. Yung unmasked himself and battled Ash's group. Defeated when Pikachu destroyed Mirage Mewtwo and the Mirage System, he retreated into his burning laboratory despite Oak's demands for surrender. His body was never recovered, leaving his fate unresolved.
