Description
Nikolai, a part-cyborg individual, serves aboard the space cruiser commanded by Galory Cherrowick, a human-Crest hybrid, amidst the ongoing conflict between humans and the alien Crest race. He survives an ambush by automated attack ships launched from a derelict Crest warship controlled by the Cfutz automaton system, emerging alongside Galory. The pair subsequently seeks aid from Althea, a full Crest person awakened from stasis.
Deep-seated distrust toward Crest people, stemming from the 300-year Earth-Crest war that ended in Crest victory and lingering animosity, fuels Nikolai's initial friction with Althea. Circumstances compel their cooperation. Nikolai's cyborg physiology grants him physical strength and combat capabilities vital during infiltration missions aboard the enemy vessel. He provides tactical support in confrontations against the Cfutz automaton's mechanical forces, including patrolling spider-like robots.
During the critical mission to destroy the Type 38 automaton within the ship's core, Nikolai operates a mecha unit alongside Galory and Althea. He actively participates in combat sequences targeting Cfutz defenses. The narrative focuses on this functional cooperation against the automaton threat, rather than exploring Nikolai's personal history or development beyond his cyborg nature and anti-Crest stance.
